Leading international sustainable seafood certification Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is the latest automated scheme to be added to Authenticate’s supply chain software using a secure, real-time API. They’re working with fisheries, seafood companies and scientists to help protect our oceans and safeguard seafood supplies for over 20 years.
We’re delighted to be adding such a recognised scheme amongst businesses and consumers to our automated collection. Helping retailers and food manufacturers understand supplier certification and support sustainable seafood initiatives.
The Authenticate platform has a global network of over 45,000 sites spanning 150 countries. Helping companies deep dive to improve supply chain visibility, manage risks, and collaborate with suppliers.
Our certification module tracks companies against automated schemes (now including MSC) to understand their current status. Then, information is transferred to an insightful and actionable dashboard which highlights various statistics. These statistics comprise of the total number of certified sites, suppliers with expired or due-to-expire certifications, and a scheme aimed at driving efficiencies and maintaining supply chain standards.
Speaking of the new API with Authenticate, Seth McCurry, Senior Commercial Manager (UK & Ireland) at the MSC explained:
“Undoubtedly, seafood supply chains are undoubtedly complex! MSC actively collaborates with fisheries and seafood manufacturers to ensure the protection of the world’s oceans and seafood suppliers. By creating an automated API to share the certification status of MSC fisheries within Authenticate, we hope it will make it even easier for retailers and other businesses involved in seafood supply chains to ensure sustainable practices.”
