FIR Compliance: Allergens, additives and origins
The EU Food Information Regulations (FIR) which came into effect in December 2014 changed the technical requirements for the hospitality and catering sector.
It became a legal requirement to provide consumers with data relating to 14 common allergens, additives, recommended daily allowances and country of origin of some products, leading to the need for a sophisticated real-time data solution.
Your product list, your suppliers, your data.
The Authenticate Platform has been helping caterers, wholesalers and brand owners to pass the duty-of-care to the ultimate owner of the product and ensure accurate product data is delivered to the consumer whilst providing safe, compliant, reliable information in a cost-effective way.
Taking a collaborative approach, product lists can be uploaded to the Authenticate Platform and instantly linked to a pool of brand-owned data already housed on the platform. The concept of a ‘Caterpool’ allows hospitality clients to collect vital data instantly and without the need for laborious repetitive, inaccurate duplication of time and effort.
Removing the need for repetitive update requests, the platform updates in real-time and can be instantly exported to operational catering facilities ready for the next day’s trade.
