New partnership with major Australian supermarket chain increases Authenticate retailer reach to a land down under

Coles, a trusted Australian retailer delivering quality and value to consumers has signed a multi-year agreement with Authenticate, to accelerate animal welfare performance improvement initiatives and centralise data collection processes.

As a result of growing consumer demands for responsibly sourced products and increased focus on animal welfare performance, it’s never been more important for businesses at all tiers of the supply chain to maintain and improve best practice when it comes to animal well-being.

Coles will be using Authenticate’s supply chain mapping, audits and KPI solutions to engage with farmers and processors and will be leveraging the data and insights collated to improve animal welfare performance. This will further expand Coles reporting capabilities for important sustainability benchmarks such as the annual Business Benchmark for Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW) Report.

Speaking of the new partnership, Alex Walters, Chief Commercial Officer at Authenticate said:

“Although we have over 35,000 companies from 130 countries logging into our platform, we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome our first enterprise customer from Australia on board. After working with other leading retailers on animal welfare initiatives since 2013, we’re excited to share our experience with Coles to help take them to the next level.”
